Quality is the only thing that matters

Not just the quality of the fish, but the quality of the delivery, the quality of our relationships, and the quality of our North Atlantic oceanic ecosystem.

Every day fresh fish comes into our facility and is hand trimmed for better yield, less waste, and finer cuts.

Our dedicated team, our state of the art processing facility Erik the Red Seafood, our partnership with Icelandair, and our proximity to Keflavik Airport enables us to ship daily, with fresh fish arriving in customers’ hands in the U.S. within 72 hours of catch.

Conscientious about our impact on the environment, we have a contract with the Iceland Carbon Fund, Kolviðurworking to offset the effects of carbon emissions through the planting of trees. Additionally, we ship with Icelandair Cargo, the ISO 14001 certified airline whose efforts include reducing its carbon footprint with a “continuous descent approach” which decreases fuel use and noise pollution, and by optimizing storage space on all planes for maximum cargo on each flight.

Centuries of the Fishing Trade

Archeologists have discovered evidence of the Icelandic fish trade dating back as far as the 9th century AD. While it was always an important aspect of life here, in the mid to late 19th century the industry grew exponentially when we won independence from Denmark. Fish like Atlantic Cod soon became one of the country’s largest exports.

Our founders and team have been involved with fishing for most of their lives. We can’t overstate the importance of fishing for us and for our country and we are proud to share our heritage and bounty with you.
